About MicroCool

Formed in 1981 by two entrepreneurs in the Palm Springs California area, MicroCool began cooling restaurants, businesses and private homes. Based on an American Indian method of using burlap in open windows, the idea soon took off! Soon the principle of flash evaporating water in the air was being used for other applications and spreading worldwide.

Greenhouses used the system for humidification and cooling in the major growing areas of Europe and beyond. Dust suppression and cooling systems were used with chickens to promote growth; odor control products were used to suppress malodors in many different industries.

As the MicroCool business grew, so did the technology that went with the equipment. Soon MicroCool systems were being used not only in the USA but also worldwide for many different applications and solutions. Some of these are textiles in South America; hatcheries throughout the USA and overseas; wineries in Spain, California and Argentina along with tobacco production in Pakistan and China. Humidification and cooling in greenhouses became a worldwide application allowing growers to continue production of first class fruit all through the summer months.

Cooling applications throughout the Middle East became commonplace and through a solid dealer network, the MicroCool name became synonymous with outdoor cooling.

Process cooling using MicroCool technology entered a new phase when energy prices rose and the application of fog on condenser coils to reduce electric demand attracted a great deal of attention. Still in it’s infancy, this process can reduce electrical usage by up to 18% and remove strain on the electrical grid.

In 2009, MicroCool became independent from it’s overseas owners and returned to being an independently owned company without design and financial restraints. In this short time, a complete new product line has been invented and perfected to match customer demand and increase efficiency. Use of the latest electrical and hydraulic components, lightweight frames and casings now provide MicroCool customers with one of the most advanced equipment packages in the industry.

MicroCool designers and engineers can between them offer over 75 years of working experience in the fog industry with degrees in engineering, chemistry and physics to help apply the technology to every solution.

Modern day communications, teleconferencing and live (on-line) demonstrations of principles and equipment help cement MicroCool’s reputation as one of the world leaders in adiabatic cooling technology.
