Equipment: Control Equipment

MicroCool fog systems and solutions are only ever as good as the controller that operates them!
The design and distribution of nozzles is only part of the complete package, the control and application of the fog system is just as important as the quality of the fog. To get the best performance from the MicroCool system, we have assembled a group of control equipment and sensors that are optimized to work with our system.

General humidity and temperature sensors are not accurate and do not react fast enough to control fog applications. As the nozzle distribution is widespread to react quickly to changing conditions and environments; so must the controller react as fast so the system does not overshoot.

Adiabatic cooling in greenhouses and buildings is controlled around the humidity setpoint to make sure that the maximum cooling is achieved without wetting or saturating the air. As the fog system cools the air, so the humidity will also rise. There comes a point where the high humidity level is less desirable that the lower temperature setting. At this point the controller will shut down the fog system until the humidity returns to a more acceptable level. In effect, the temperature control cycles around the tolerable humidity setpoint.

MicroCool control systems are able to accurately control humidity levels at low temperatures and high humidity level (cold stores) but also control process cooling applications to a fine degree of accuracy. The sensors have a high measurement range and a small variable to transmit the best results. The recovery and cycle time of the controllers is fast enough to make sure that the system reacts to any humidity or temperature deviation from the setpoint.

The VECTOR control system is a “next generation” controller featuring an easy to read display and simple controls. The unit has the option of using an integrated or remote sensor for the most suitable measurement. The operator controls complete allow for more precise sequencing and time based operations. The VECTOR unit can also be included in the MicroCool sectioning controller making a flexible unit for zone control.

The MicroCool MAVERICK control system is a web based control system allowing the user to control and monitor the MicroCool system from their desktop computer, laptop or smart phone. Alarms and status reports can be sent to multiple recipients anywhere in the world for action or adjustment. The system consists of a group of sensors (temp and humidity as standard but including, water pressure, alarm status, TDS and many other functions) connected to control unit(s). Each controller can operate up to four outputs and receive four inputs from sensors. Once connected to a computer network, the controls and setpoint can be monitored and changed from anywhere.

Each MicroCool system can also be interfaced with building management systems (BMS) and other monitoring / control systems as required. For further details and specialist information, please contact our sales team for more details on your specific application.
