Industrial Applications: Introduction

The flash evaporation of water droplets into the air to help industrial processes has been known for centuries. MicroCool uses this age old technology of cooling, humidification and environmental control using high-pressure water and precision equipment. Droplets of water as small as 10 micron (1/10th the diameter of a human hair) are float in the air, evaporate quickly leaving no residual water or wetting.

MicroCool fog systems can be used in all aspects of process cooling, especially in the HVAC industry where substantial energy recovery can be measured when used to cool air entering condensers or heat recovery units. Retail store owners and users have seen reductions of over 17% in energy usage with even higher reductions in the Kw used, a substantial benefit to utility providers.

MicroCool humidification systems have successfully been used for over 30 years for many different applications all over the world. High-pressure systems are substantially less expensive that air/water and gas fired humidification packages making them ideal for use in larger areas. The MicroCool engineers calculate the most suitable nozzle distribution to ensure fast and accurate control of the desired humidity level and environment.

For many years MicroCool has been acknowledged as one of the leaders for glasshouse cooling and humidification systems with many major producers as customers. Their unique knowledge of greenhouse production methods, plant tolerances and horticultural practices help the grower integrate the fog system with their growing conditions and environment.

Ultrafine dust particles (PM10 and sub PM10) floating in the air are a health hazard and are routinely monitored by authorities. MicroCool dust suppression systems use 10 micron fog droplets to trap the dust particle and drop it harmlessly to the ground for recovery. Transfer stations and waste processing are the major clients for these applications, but fine dust can be a problem in many different industries, MicroCool has the solution to many of these problems. The MicroCool high-pressure system is also used to distribute suitable odor control chemicals into the air to suppress airborne malodors.

MicroCool manufactures all their equipment at the Palm Springs California facility, where possible, using USA built components and electronics. Only the highest quality products are used in the assembly of every MicroCool system, each one undergoing a rigorous test procedure before shipping. All MicroCool systems are designed to work in harsh industrial climates and provide years of trouble free service when regularly maintained.

Specialists in the MicroCool offices have over 100 years of combined knowledge in the “fog business” (some individually over 20 years) and are poised to help with any particular industrial problem and offer an economic worry free solution.
