Since 1980, MicroCool has led the adiabatic cooling & humidification industry with innovative ideas and engineering breakthroughs.

Commercial Humidifier
It all began when two forward-thinking Palm Springs-area residents just wanted a way to escape the Desert heat in that summer of 1980, and knew others did, too. Their innovative answer? MicroCool adiabatic fog technology. They knew they had a winner when the patio at Las Casuelas Terraza restaurant went from empty to standing-room-only on that 115° F Sunday. And when the fire department showed up to put out the smoky “fire,” they made front-page and television news. The two promoters suddenly had a new dream product to promote and Outdoor Cooling was born. Soon, customers the world over were finding added uses for MicroCool systems — in horticulture and manufacturing, and myriad other applications from Canada to Europe to the sands of Saudi Arabia.
By the beginning of the 90’s it was clear that the rest of the world agreed that EEC (Environmental Engineering Concepts) was on to something big. Despite many cheaper, inferior products that appeared on the scene, MicroCool prevailed as leaders in adiabatic cooling worldwide. Their focus was to not compete with low-cost imitators, but to produce only the best possible products – leading to the introduction of MicroCool’s breakthrough E-range pump modules.
With the purchase of EEC by the Nortec Group in 2001, an entirely new direction was undertaken – industrial sales focusing on humidification and process cooling. The Company continued increasing sales for larger industrial and horticultural applications. Much larger, higher-end pump modules and accessories were designed and incorporated for industry and greenhouse, resulting in the largest project to date -a Bechtel specified LNG cooling system featuring more than 10,000 nozzles.

Midway through 2009, a core group of the MicroCool management team successfully purchased the company back from the Swiss Giant. Under the new management, all pump module manufacturing was returned to the Desert. MicroCool moved to a much larger, 10,000 square foot facility. A UL certified electrical panel room was installed so all pumps could shipped with that crucial designation! All equipment was redesigned to fulfill a specific purpose, and the FOCUS, Hummingbird, IBEX, Rhino, and Bighorn ranges were born, along with a brand new concept in stainless-steel line -the ROC line.

Fully engineered, complete turnkey MicroCool systems are being installed all over the world. And the list of satisfied MicroCool customers continues to grow.

The team at MicroCool has been at the forefront of adiabatic cooling and humidification since Environmental Engineering Concepts (EEC) was created in 1980, leading to ground-breaking ideas and design breakthroughs in high pressure water fogging equipment produced. It was clear by the end of the 1990s that the rest of the world agreed that EEC was onto something significant. Eventually, the company evolved and changed its name to MicroCool, but still retains the problem-solving and innovative thinking that has always been a priority.

Throughout the years, MicroCool has shined as an industry leader in adiabatic cooling and humidification worldwide. The unrivaled quality in fog cooling elements and in-space humidifier solutions developed by MicroCool gave us a voice in the market that others could not refute.

As the company developed, our goal was to avoid competing against low-cost imitators; instead, we focused on only producing the best possible products and systems, resulting in the debut of MicroCool’s revolutionary E-range pump module. Since then, MicroCool has risen to the top of the adiabatic cooling market as a leader, with even more impressive devices to show for it. In 2012, MicroCool debuted the Focus line of custom humidification equipment to bring fogging in-space while providing a level of control and flexibility that industrial and commercial customers required.

Today, MicroCool provides a variety of cooling, air quality, and horticulture solutions. These systems are appropriate for many industries, particularly those with manufacturing and operational procedures that need their spaces to be kept at an optimal temperature and humidity level. If this sounds like you, then MicroCool has exactly what you need.
